You Can Make a Difference

Each year, despite other organizations’ efforts such as United Way and Red Cross, and despite the efforts made by churches, public schools, and county social services, hundreds of children fall silently through society’s cracks.

  • 2,500 children in Ontario County live in poverty (9% of families)

  • 6,000 children are in reduced lunch programs

  • Nearly 3,000 youth require special nutritional assistance

  • Significant numbers of children are victims of reported abuse or maltreatment

  • Health plans that occasionally deny critical specialty equipment (ie. Beds, wheelchairs, oxygen, etc.)

  • Increased numbers of mental health concerns

Ontario Children’s Foundation (OCF) provides very targeted monies each year to help alleviate these issues. Over $200,000 is invested annually in assisting hundreds of Ontario County’s children experiencing these specific critical, urgent, or special care needs.

Thanks to its donor base, along with wise money management, OCF has invested over $2.5 million in the past ten years alone. From receiving zero per cent interest college loans, to support for camps and daycare programs serving children countywide, along with relief from a variety of medical needs, children have found support from OCF.

Our thirty-three trustees and managers are dedicated volunteers who donate countless hours each year. Many have been working with OCF for over 20 years. Along with zero paid staff, no funds are spent on office space, and OCF receives NO governmental funding.

Help Us Help Children

Begun during the Civil War, Ontario Children’s Foundation remains an effective and viable assistance program today, in part due to generous donors. Please, if you can, Help Us Help Children!

What People Are Saying

Ontario Children’s Foundation makes it possible for many families to provide vital services and activities their children would otherwise have to do without. OCF is a special gift to our community that keeps on giving.

Your organization has helped provide both medical and positional items for June. Such items include a proper stethoscope, portable pulse oximeter, thermometer, trach ties, a car seat, a chair for administering tube feeds, and a sun shelter so we can have her outside with her equipment. Due to June’s extensive medical needs, Mom has not been able to return to work and our income has certainly taken a drastic cut. Your financial assistance has helped our family be able to provide June with the proper items to be able to take her out of the house safely to experience things that all kids should be experiencing!

Thank you for considering to make an interest-free loan available to me again. It does help tremendously.

Thank you for your generosity in funding the interest-free loan. This money will assist me in pursuing a degree in Environmental Resource Engineering at SUNY ESF.
